Don’t Dig Up What You Prayed About
Tuesday Pour: Don’t Dig Up What You Prayed About
Have you ever prayed about something, told God you were giving it to Him, got up from prayer—and then started worrying about it all over again?
We say, “Lord, I trust You.”
But then we go back and check it.
We rethink it.
We replay it.
We try to figure out how God is going to do it.
And before we know it, we have picked back up the very thing we laid down in prayer.
James 5:16 tells us, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
That means prayer is doing something.
Just because you cannot see movement does not mean God is not working.
Think about a seed. Once you put it into the ground, you don’t keep digging it up every few days to see whether it has started growing. If you keep disturbing the soil, you interrupt the process.
Sometimes we do the same thing spiritually.
We pray.
We release.
And then because the answer hasn’t come in the way or timing we expected, we start digging again.
“God, did You hear me?”
“God, when are You going to do it?”
“Maybe I need to fix this myself.”
Sis, don’t dig it up.
There are things happening underneath the surface that you cannot see yet.
God may be working on the person.
God may be arranging the opportunity.
God may be closing one door because another one is being prepared.
And sometimes, while we’re waiting for God to change the situation, God is doing a work in us.
Prayer isn’t only about getting God to move.
Prayer changes our posture while we wait for Him to move.
So after you have prayed, there comes a point when your prayer has to become trust.
Pray it over.
Leave it there.
Trust His process.
Watch His faithfulness.
And when worry tries to make you go digging again, remind yourself:
I already prayed about that.
I’m not saying I don’t care anymore.
I’m saying I trust God more than I trust my ability to control the outcome.
So here’s your Tuesday Pour:
Don’t dig up what you prayed about.
Let God work beneath the surface.
The seed is still in the ground.
Your prayer is still before God.
And His faithfulness has not changed.
You prayed about it. Now trust God with it.
Rise. Heal. Thrive.
